Water, a valuable resource we should treasure, deserves more of our attention
Water is extremely important to Guandu Nature Park. Water is the lifeline of the land. Healthy water bodies flow to the wetlands, nourishing an ecological environment rich in biodiversity and consisting of healthy and friendlyhabitats for a wide diversity of flora and fauna. Guandu Nature Park is committed to promoting water resources education, raising the awareness ofthe general public on the importance of water resources.Project WET Taiwan Water Education Partner Network has connected many like-minded organizations with the same cause through discussion and joint efforts on a wide range of issues relating to water resources. Starting from understanding the ecological functions of wetlands and their vital importance to human survival and with such connection and momentum built, we anticipate that people will put more effort in cherishing and caring for the beautiful water environment in Taiwan.

Thanks to the perseverance of Guandu Nature Park, the general public has recognized the importance of ecological balance and pledged to safeguard Mother Earth.
The life cycles of human beings and water are 100% connected. All urban dwellers should understand how to coexist with water, use water in a sustainable way and work together to develop most friendly water environment. We began from Tamshui River Basin where education campaigns were conducted to boost the interest of local residents on the environment and further take concrete actions to protect and care for Taiwan’s water environment. In the second half of 2020 to 2021, to extend the perseverance and efforts lasting for two decades, the Wild Bird Society of Taipei will endeavor to sustain this momentum by maintaining its existing influence via the Internet and looking for like-minded partners for future collaboration. The goal is to create an even closer and well-connected partnership of all water resources societies and other groups in Taiwanto safeguard our planet and a green future of sustainability, biodiversity and ecological balance.
