Owing to global climate change, the condition of natural environment has become worse in recent years. To enhance the city’s adaptability of extreme event, Taipei city government applies the related policy based on the vision of sponge city; and to strengthen the effects of promotion, innovative application and activate interaction among cities, the government holds the debut event of The Taipei Water Expo and Taipei International Water Environment Forum in the year of 2016. Through interactive forum between water-related international cities (including round table forum, forum congress and city sightseeing) and Taipei exposition, government offers an opportunity for experts from cities around the world to exchange the experiences of execution and related policy implementation, and also to promote the development of water environment and communication among cities. With the extraordinary event, we manage to raise the reputation internationally, widely spread the result of sponge-city policy promotion and acti
    vate the application locally. Therefore, the government goes forward with the spirit and holds the event again, which is Taipei Water Expo and Taipei International Water Environment Forum in the year of 2018 and 2020 separately.
