Taipei Geography

Taipei is located in the northern part of Taiwan, with 121.6 degrees east longitude and 24.9 degrees north latitude. Taipei City has a total area of 271.8 square kilometers. Taipei is a basin topography, it contains green leisure, historical heritage, culture, and art. The municipal flower is azaleas, the municipal bird is the blue magpie, and the municipal tree is banyan tree. Taipei city has a great location and it is convenient. It contains Taiwan’s first MRT network, Taoyuan International Airport, and several highways in Taiwan.

Taipei Attractions

Yangmingshan National Park

Lengshuikeng, Macao Hot spring, and Juansi waterfall are popular tourist attractions on Yangmingshan. You can also try their mountain cuisine, such as fried wild vegetables, sweet potato soup, and yam steamed bun. If you are in the arum season, you can also visit the bamboo lake to experience picking arum, and enjoy nature.

National Palace Museum

The National Palace Museum collects the essence of the art heritage of all ages. The most famous collection, including Mao Gongding, San family plate, Tsung-Chou bell, and so on.  Craft is the most important feature in the National Palace Museum. Apart from the famous jade cabbage and meat-shaped stone. There are lacquer ware, glass, gold and silver ware, and ink and paper ink paper collection. Palace class relics, including religious exhibits, such as shamanism and Tibetan Buddhism vessels and artifacts.

Taipei 101

Ximending

Ximending is a Taipei famous fashion shopping district. It has the first and most iconic walking area. The Ximen Red House, Zhijie Street, Movie Street, KTV, Wannian Building, Wan Guo Department Store, Eslite Bookstore and a variety of boutiques are all available at Ximending.

National Dr.Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall

After year 1964 world war 2, Sun Yat-sen started to build the memorial hall in order to commemorate the founding. The foundation ceremony was held the following year using Wang Da-tao architect to enhance traditional Chinese architecture. The building was opened in 1972. It is an expansive land with green infrastructure, lake, beautiful architecture, and known as Taipei landmark.

Songshan Cultural and Creative Park

Taipei Fine Art Museum

Taipei Fine Arts Musuem has the mission of promoting the preservation, research, development and popularization of contemporary and contemporary art in Taiwan. Raohe Street Night Market

Yongkang Street

Yongkang Street is the origin of Taipei alley culture. Without doubt, it is the crème de la crème in terms of gourmet cuisine. Originally earning fame for its traditional cuisine, such as Din Tai Fung's Taiwanese dumplings and the Shou-Lan Gourmet; the 20-plus year-old Hui-Liu Restaurant is representative of the new healthy-eating fashion that combines tea and vegetarian cuisine, with a brilliant interior design and classical music in the background, portraying a sense of style and leisure.

Dajia Riverside Park

Sprawling along the banks between the Zhongshan and Dazhi Bridges in Taipei’s Zhongshan District, Dajia Riverside Park is an urban greenery project inspired from a City Government-initiated effort to straighten the course of Keelung River. Upon arriving at this extensive park, visitors are greeted with a pleasant, expansive patch of lawn commanding a view of Miramar’s rooftop Ferris wheel.

Yanping Riverside Park

Yanping Riverside Park has preserved memories of the early lives of the people in Taipei. Heading towards the direction of the Tamsui River estuary, visitors can enjoy cultural heritage attractions of the entire Dadaocheng Area along the way, such as: Dihua Street, Xiahai City God Temple, Taipei Confucius Temple and Dalongdong Bao’an Temple. These places help people bring back memories of old Taipei.

Daan Park

Dann Forest Park is an ecological park with a forest-like environment. Park roads are lined with trees such as camphor, cajuput, ficus and maples. Bushes and flower beds are planted throughout the park to help make the park into a lush, green space. The park is likened to the lungs of Taipei.

TAIPEI EXPO PARK

Converted from the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo, the TAIPEI EXPO PARK is an urban recreational facility that comprises three typical park areas (Yuanshan, Taipei Fine Arts Museum and Xinsheng) while offering venues for the hosting of various events in the former Flora Expo’s pavilions.

Dihua Sports Park cross-embankment viewing platform

With an area of 2,796 square meters, the Park can hold 3,000 people. It is Taipei City’s second viewing point. The overlook extends across Huanhe North Road to an area jutting over the embankment, providing an excellent view. Standing on the overlook, one can take in the full view of Danshui River, and enjoy Dadaocheng Wharf’s fireworks. In addition, the viewing overlook also has water recreation facilities for family activities, as well as a performance stage.

Baishihu Suspension Bridge

As part of the Baishihu Leisure Agricultural Area in Neihu, Taipei City, the 116-meter Baishihu Suspension Bridge spans the Zhongyong and Daluntou mountain systems, and is accessible from the entrance by the parking lot of Bishan (Kaichang Shengwang) Temple. The keel-inspired bridge stretches from the Dragon Boat Rock in the east to Yuanjue Waterfall in the west, connecting four mountains (Baishihu, Daluntou, Zhongyong and Liyu) along the way as if it were a gigantic dragon watching over the scenic Baishihu.

Datun Mountain System: Junjianyan Hiking Trail

Junjianyan is an ideal site for school field trips owing to its convenient location in Taipei's suburbs and its special geological and botanical features.

Picture with an elevation of just 185m and numerous easily accessible paths, Junjianyan is popular with hill walkers everyday. Ascending from the front of the Yangming University campus research building (about 800m away from MRT-Qilian station) takes around 30 minutes by means of a 500m-long stone stairway. A fork in the middle of this path offers the choice of paved and railed route to the right and natural sandstone to the left.

Dagoi Stream Hydrophilic Trail

The Dagoi Stream Hydrophilic Trail is one of the entrance networks of the Five Finger Mountain Forest Trail, which leads to bihu trail, Bishan Rock, Baishi Lake Suspension Bridge, Jinmen Mountain, and Carp Mountain.

The Dagoi Stream Hydrophilic Trail improves the original chaotic environment of the hillside, connecting residential areas with mountain trails and enhancing the benefits of leisure and recreation. Planting four seasons of grass flowers (e.g. African phoenix, four-season sea otters, etc.) is planted every year after the end of the anti-pollution period in November. The planning area of the slow slope green space in the pool is about 4,000 square meters of the land flower sea, using the ribbon bending change to shape the natural flower landscape with different colors, presenting the lively green belt landscape to fully achieve the effect of beautification of the environment, rich color, with the effect of painting dragon finishing.

Jinrui Flood Management Park

The "Jinrui Flood Management Park" is completely in line with the concept of "sponge city" which the Taipei city government actively promotes. Park dug by the flood pool can accumulate up to 27,000 tons of flood, during the typhoon season, the flood pool like a sponge first to collect rainwater, to avoid directly rushed downstream caused by the flood; In addition, the " Jinrui Flood Management Park" used eco-engineering construction, unlike the traditional way to seal the pool body with concrete. At the same time, the bottom of the pool retains the original rock disk, with rock formation pores to provide aquatic living and breeding environment in the water. The park's waters cover an area of 7,000 square meters, and when the temperature rises in the summer, the water is fully fine-tuned to reduce the "hot island" effect as the pool is steamed away.

"Jinrui Flood Management Park" has a dam-top viewing platform, so that the public can enjoy the mountain light and water color of the park. In addition, the park is tree-lined, beautiful scenery; People can also visit the Jinlong Zen Temple, Bishan Rock and Baishi Lake.
